OUR MISSION
“Members of the Sheboygan Police Benevolent Association are dedicated to the community we serve and to our fellow employees. Our mission is to promote good public relations with the citizens of Sheboygan by supporting our community’s youth and other local causes.”
ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
The Sheboygan Police Benevolent Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 1934 by officers of the Sheboygan Police Department. The Sheboygan Police Benevolent Association (SPBA) carries on the tradition of promoting good public relations by continuing to support our community’s youth and other local causes. With monies raised through payroll dues, fundraisers, and donations, the SPBA sponsors a wide variety of youth-oriented programs and community outreach and provides scholarships for high school seniors.
Our History
For almost 90 years, sworn officers of the Sheboygan Police Department have organized to support one another and the community. In the '40 and ’50s, officers sponsored athletic teams and the Sheboygan Policemen’s Ball, along with other events to promote good relations with the citizens of Sheboygan. In 1968, the organization formally incorporated as the “Sheboygan Policemens’ Benevolent Association”, distinct from the Sheboygan Police Department.
During the next several decades, the Association endeavored to strengthen our community by providing monetary support to numerous youth-focused organizations, through mentorship programs involving police officers, and by assisting citizens of Sheboygan in times of need.
Today, the Sheboygan Police Benevolent Association (SPBA) carries on the tradition of promoting good public relations by continuing to support our community’s youth and other local causes.
